As Outreach and Engagement Senior Program Director, Peggy Propp manages all aspects of student outreach and awareness, the Haas Center’s alumni engagement programs, and special events or projects as assigned. She provides strategy and guidance on special communication activities associated with Cardinal Service and other Haas Center efforts.
Prior to her work at Stanford, Peggy created and managed the MAP Sustainable Energy Fellowship program (now the Schneider Fellows). These fellowships support the efforts of non-governmental organizations in developing a more sustainable energy future, while creating life-changing opportunities for Stanford students and recent graduates.
She also co-founded, was a board member, and became the first Executive Director for Community Impact (now Hands on Bay Area). This non-profit organization creates more than 65,000 hours of flexible volunteering opportunities annually throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to joining Community Impact as a full-time employee, Peggy was a manager in product marketing, market development, and business development for the medical technology company, Nellcor (now Covidien).
Recent volunteer opportunities include: Pursuit of Excellence (POE) mentor, Menlo-Atherton High School (MAHS) Computer Academy Mentor, Co-President of the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation (raising $2M for the school district), organizer of MAHS’s Challenge Day for over 600 freshmen, and a variety of fundraising rolls for the local public schools including founder and board member of Kleeman Scholarship Fund. Peggy was inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame of San Mateo County and was a California State Legislature Woman of the Year. She received her B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from Stanford.
