E’Rika Chambers

E’rika Chambers is a dedicated advocate for youth development in the out of school time field. She has over 25+ years of experience working with youth. E’rika started her youth development work with the Boys & Girls Clubs of SF, where she learned to inspire & enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. E’rika then served for eight years with Convent and Stuart Hall in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of SF in a variety of roles that included, receptionist, associate teacher, summer program asst. & basketball Coach. During her time at Convent and Stuart Hall, E’rika gained valuable classroom experience that would later fuel her work in the after-school world. E’rika is a firm believer in education and feels that every child needs someone who is rooting for them in their corner.
E’rika received her education from CSU, East Bay. Her studies in General Ed. & History has sculpted the way in which she creates curriculum and structures her programs. E’rika believes in providing students with opportunities to study the past and is a champion of project-based learning. PBL ’s, provide students with the opportunity to learn about other cultures, traditions and time periods. It is vital that we provide students with these experiences so they can compete in such a diverse world.
Currently, E’rika is the E.D. of Collective Impact. As E.D., she continues to be an advocate for all youth, especially underserved communities. E’rika grew up in the Western Addition district of San Francisco; she is currently active in transforming the neighborhood through services that are provided by Magic Zone by mentoring & developing students and staff in the program. E’rika is grateful for all who have poured into her over the years.
